Set on Maui in 1953, 'Ainakea traces the lives of the Goodale family, descendants of early missionaries, who are struggling to hang onto their failing sugarcane plantation.
Based on Anton Chekhov's classic drama The Cherry Orchard, this world premiere play shines a light on Maui on the cusp of change.

James's upcoming ambient album, In a Landscape, was specifically composed to be a dance piece. A new work by Randi Lonzaga set to this eight-part suite will have its world premiere at ProArts Playhouse in Maui on April 16, 2026.

KIMOSONGS is the home base for three interrelated artists:
JAMES NEVIUS
a composer of ambient, post-classical music, most recently "On The Nile: A Musical Landscape in 18 Parts" and the ongoing "Macbeth Sketchbooks" project.
PROMISED ROAD
A one(ish)-man band. In 2023-2024, Promised Road wrote, recorded and released a song a week for 53 Weeks.
KIMO NEVIUS
A folk singer who sings primarily about 19th-century Hawaiian history.
